Ground 04 / the bench

MSHA certified electricians for rock quarries and surface mines.

Quality Electric Construction and Maintenance Corp. is Mine Safety and Health Administration certified, MSHA #UJT, for the electrical work a rock quarry or limestone mine runs on.

Chapter 01

MSHA #UJT, and what the certification actually gates

Mine electrical work isn't open to any licensed electrician who wants the job. A mine site is required to use contractors certified by the Mine Safety and Health Administration before they're allowed on the property, and Quality Electric of Ardmore, OK holds that certification under MSHA #UJT.

It's a narrower list than the Oklahoma Contractor's licence, #029998, that covers the crew's other work, and it's the one line on the site that a mine operator has to see before a truck comes through the gate. Between the two, the crew is bondable, insured and licensed for every ground it works, the bench included.

The annual electrical ground test each mine must run

Mine companies are required to conduct an annual electrical ground test for each mine to stay compliant with MSHA rules and regulations. It's not a courtesy inspection, it's a standing obligation on the operator, and it has to be done by someone certified to do it.

Quality Electric runs that test as part of its mining work across Carter, Marshall, Love, Johnston and Murray Counties, on the same visit basis as the rest of the site's electrical maintenance. A mine that's waited past its window on the test is exactly the kind of call the crew is on 24/7 for.

Chapter 03

Crushers, conveyors, feeder motors, MCCs

Serious mining equipment is electrically powered about as often as it's gas powered, so the crew works crushers, conveyors, feeder motors, sump pumps, generators, fueling tanks and motor control centres as routine scope, not a rare specialty. Major outdoor lighting across a quarry site is part of the same work, because a bench that can't be seen after dark is a bench that can't be worked safely.

That's a wider range of equipment than a plant floor or a house circuit puts in front of an electrician, and it's why the MSHA certification exists in the first place. It doesn't just say a crew is licensed to touch a panel, it says the crew has been checked against equipment like this specifically.

Surface mines, rock quarries, limestone

The mining work is surface mining: rock quarries and limestone operations across South Central Oklahoma, not underground work. That includes the office wiring at the mine site itself, alongside the crushers and conveyors out on the bench, so one crew covers both ends of the property on the same certification.

Bid work is free to mines inside the five-county service area, and every job carries the crew's one-year warranty, mine equipment included. Call (580) 226-4041 to get MSHA #UJT work looked at, or send the site details through the contact page.
